But he’s not just a geek! Alex is well-versed in bridging the gap between geeks and suits as well as applying tech to real-world business problems. He's spent most of his career building software to streamline processes across multiple industries including banking and finance, med-tech, telecommunications, publishing, social media, HR & Payroll and energy/power generation.
He's currently running Semaphore, a Philippines-based B2B platform for sending SMS. Semaphore provides a low-cost, easy to use system that enables companies large and small to keep in contact with its customers.
Alex is also passionate about helping startups: he is the technical co-founder at SatisFIND, has been a mentor at Founder Institute since 2016, and an AWS Scout since 2019. He has also been an active member of the Philippine startup community since 2012, providing consultations, guidance, and technical help to dozens of local startups.
