Our guest speaker, Pieter Kemps will share more with us about Sequoia's history, culture, and portfolio. He’ll also share how they got into Southeast Asia and how they work with founders here.

We have obviously asked him for his views on the Philippines and the opportunities & challenges in the market, and what Sequoia normally looks for in companies and founders. So we hope he’ll be sharing some of that too.

ABOUT PIETER KEMPS
Pieter joined Sequoia Capital as a Vice President in 2014 and focuses on investments in internet, mobile, software, and infrastructure across South East Asia. Prior to joining Sequoia, Pieter was at Amazon Web Services, where he was responsible for Amazon’s business with the leading VC's, Accelerators, and the startup ecosystem across Asia.

Pieter previously launched a startup while at college, worked at an incubator, and held various operational, strategy, and leadership roles at blue chip tech companies such as Nokia and Cisco. He has lived and worked in Europe (Amsterdam, Madrid) and Asia (Singapore, Tokyo), and holds an MBA (High Honors) from University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he specialized in Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital.
