Unlocking The US$200 Bn Digital Opportunity in Southeast Asia
On 24 May at the Google e-conomy SEA conference held in Singapore, Google SEA and Temasek presented the results of their joint study on e-commerce. The key message: “THERE IS A US$200 BILLION DIGITAL OPPORTUNITY IN SOUTHEAST ASIA BY 2025.”
The conference proceeded to give an (1) overview of the SEA Internet economy; (2) the SEA Internet opportunity; (3) SEA VC and startup landscape; and (4) the challenges to overcome. Essentially, data was shared on what’s driving the e-conomy growth, and what current challenges are slowing down the growth.
A $200bn internet market opportunity sounds really amazing and you wonder, “What does the Philippine market share look like?”
Well, join our Raid The Fridge this month: guest speaker KEN LINGAN, Google Philippines Country Manager, will present the joint Google-Temasek e-conomy study. Hear him share the factors driving the SEA internet economy growth --- and hey, let's return the favor by asking him questions! :) It is going to be an exciting talk, and we look forward to seeing a very engaged audience.
So if you’re a digital startup founder, or an organisation involved in internet businesses, see you on June 30th! Say hello to Ken, swap updates with old friends, and meet newbies from the #startupPH community!
We’ve re-stocked the fridge, help us empty it.
